Net als A.M./P.M. (bekroond op courtisane 2005) is 'Proof of Life' een zoektocht naar nieuwe vertelvormen die een tegengewicht biedt voor onze spektakelgerichte en voyeuristische mediamaatschappij. De focus ligt niet zozeer op de beelden, maar op de offscreen stem die instaat voor de suggestieve en subjectieve vertelling.

Associative and suggestive (instead of formatted and explicit). The radical rift between sound and image makes for a film that needs to be listened to. Or a sound tape to watch.
